Why monitor your body composition?

The overall weight illusion.

Where traditional methods are limited to a binary vision (Fat/Lean), the InBody 770 deploys an extended model. By precisely isolating Active Cell Mass and bone minerals, we identify the real quality of your structure, without the biases related to variations in tissue density.

Distinguish muscle from inflammation.

Through segmental multifrequency, we discriminate Intracellular Water (ICW) from Extracellular Water (ECW). This ratio is the only reliable indicator to validate true hypertrophy and instantly detect a state of edema, metabolic stress, or systemic fatigue.

Optimize your membrane integrity.

We integrate the Phase Angle as the ultimate performance indicator. This clinical parameter evaluates the ability of your membranes to retain energy and hydration. It is the critical decision-making tool to adjust your training load and supplementation protocol in real-time.

Frequently Asked Questions

The InBody 770 is much more than a scale; it is a state-of-the-art medical device using Direct Segmental Multi-Frequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (DSM-MFBIA).

Unlike household devices, it does not use any statistical data (age, sex) to "guess" your results.

It physically measures each segment of your body (arms, legs, trunk) using 6 different frequencies, ranging from 1 kHz to 1 MHz, for an accuracy correlated at 98% with the hospital reference exam (DEXA).
Pour comprendre la précision du bilan en cabinet, il faut comparer les modèles de mesure utilisés en science :

The One-Compartment Model (Classic Scale): It only measures total weight. It does not distinguish if you are losing fat or muscle.

The Two-Compartment Model (Skinfold Calipers): It divides the body into "Fat Mass" and "Fat-Free Mass". Its major flaw is that it assumes hydration is constant, which skews the results for athletes or in cases of water retention.

The Three-Compartment Model (DEXA): It distinguishes Fat, Bone, and "Lean Soft Tissue". However, it cannot differentiate between water and pure muscle within this lean soft tissue.

The InBody 770 Model (Extended Model): This is one of the only tools capable of isolating water. By distinguishing Intracellular Water (ICW) from Extracellular Water (ECW), it separates true protein mass from hydration.

Expert Advantage: We can determine if your weight gain is true muscular hypertrophy or simply congestion/inflammation (water).
  • To ensure medical accuracy, it is recommended to:
  • Be fasting (or 2 hours after a light meal).
  • Not have engaged in intense physical activity in the previous 12 hours.
  • Use the restroom just before the measurement.
  • Avoid alcohol consumption 24 hours prior.
Contrary to traditional methods, the InBody 770 uses an extended multi-compartment measurement model. For an athlete, weight is just raw data. What matters is the structure of that weight. Thanks to multi-frequency (up to 1 MHz), the device penetrates the cell membrane to isolate Intracellular Water (ICW) from Extracellular Water (ECW). This is the only way to confirm that your weight gain is a structural hypertrophy and not water retention related to inflammation or stress.
By analyzing the Phase Angle ($\phi$). This parameter measures the reactance of cell membranes. A high phase angle indicates healthy cells and optimal membrane integrity. A decrease in phase angle, even if muscle mass appears stable, is an early indicator of metabolic fatigue or overtraining. It is a predictive tool that allows you to adjust the intensity of your training cycles before the injury occurs.
The DEXA is a 3-compartment model (Fat, Bone, Lean Tissue). However, it has a major limitation: it does not distinguish water from muscle. If you are congested or dehydrated, DEXA can distort your lean mass ratio.

The InBody 770 solves this problem by isolating total body water. It is a more dynamic and responsive model for weekly or monthly athlete tracking, without the X-ray radiation.
The InBody 770 allows you to scientifically validate the effectiveness of your supplementation strategy. For example:

Creatine: Verification of the increase in intracellular volume (ICW).

Cutting/Shredding: Verification of the preservation of segmental muscle proteins despite the caloric deficit.
The InBody tests are available in all DIETIKA centers in Tunisia. Visit the DIETIKA website to find the nearest center.
We recommend a test every 4 to 6 weeks to effectively track your progress, or with each major change in your program.
